In AOL 3.0 or earlier, click the setup button on the welcome screen.  Click setup modem, then edit commands.  Replace the existing string with one listed below.  Input the strings one at a time until you get your disired result. Add ^M (shift+6, capital M) to the end of each string.

In AOL 4.0 or later, click the setup button on the welcome screen.  Click add or change modem.  Click the devices tab.  Highlight your modem then hit expert setup and click the edit commands button.  Replace the existing Setup Modem String with one of the commands listed below until you get your disired result.  Add ^m (shift+6, capital M) to the end of each string.
